Winnie Chong
Piano - Classical & Pop
Professional Accompanist

Winnie Chong is one of the most prominent pianists in the live music entertainment scene in Hong Kong. She has performed in world-class hotels including the The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, The Island Shangr-la, The Peninsula and The Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, just to name a few. Her rendition of classical, Broadway musicals and selection of popular music with beautiful touch has mesmerised numerous audiences and attracted such a following wherever she performs. She created Winnie Chong Piano Quartet in 2008 and has since expanded the spectrum of 'classical ensemble' music by incorporating the element of asian, and especially Hong Kong popular music in the repertoire, which has made her ensemble an icon in Hong Kong.

Awarded Young Musician of The Year (1984), Champion in Accompaniment and the Flute (Hong Kong Music Festival 1986) and holder of Licentiate, Royal Schools of Music (Piano Performance), Winnie believes in sharing the love for music and passing on her experience by nurturing young talents and aspiring artists through lessons as well as training on live performances in addition to giving support to instrumentalists by providing them with her first-class accompaniment to fuel new energy into the music industry,

Winnie was also very active in musical productions. She played in the Australian production of Cats, Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rocky Horror Show (rehearsals) Les Miserable, King and I (audition) and the London production of Barnum. She was also Musical Director of Music Man, Gypsy, The Best Little Whorehouse Of Texas and The Sound Of Music for American Community Theater.

Allen Youngblood
Piano - Jazz

Allan is no stranger to music lovers in Hong Kong. Having performed with many renowned Jazz masters including Zoot Sims, Ernestine Anderson, James Moody and Clayton-Hamilton Big Band just to name a few, Allen came to Hong Kong with his band C.C. Riders in 1992 and has been a core player in the Hong Kong music scene ever since while still being active in international jazz festivals such as Montreal Jazz Festival, St. Thomas (V.I.) Jazz Festival and Darling Harbour Jazz Festival. He also has recorded many albums including Outside The Box and Midnight Odyssey.

 

Allen has been working with Winnie Chong in numerous projects for over 20 years. He is currently Music Director at the Foreign Correspondence Club.

Dan Lavelle
Guitar - Jazz

With his strong background in R&B/funk, Soul and all types of contemporary music styles from Brazilian to Jazz, Dan Lavelle was invited to join the renowned R&B power band Pure Gold that toured across the US with acts like the Manhattan Transfer, Martha Reeves and many others in the late 70s and early 80s.  

Arriving in Hong Kong in 1987, Dan was one of the first wave of western musicians helping to build an international music scene in the territory. He works closely with superb Asian contemporary vocalists Angelita Li, Jennifer Palor and Ginger Kwan and has performed with Grammy award-winning saxophonist Eric Marienthal while serving as music director for Montreux Jazz Festival award-winning singer Talie Monin. He has also written songs for scores of top Canto-pop artistis as well as the platinum-selling Filipino band Side A.

Yuki Ke
Violin

Yuki graduated in Bachelor of Music in Performance at the prestigious Shanghai Conservatory of Music and furthered her studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with full scholarship studying with Michael Ma. 

 

She is a seasoned chamber and orchestral player, and was twice selected as representative to join the Young Euro Classic Music Festival in Germany and has also toured throughout western Europe.  After the fellowship program with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and with her versatility in different musical genres from classical to Jazz. pop and rock, Yuki has been much sought after in the live music scene and has toured in concerts with Asian pop stars, including David Tao Jie, JJ Lin, Joey Yung and Kay Tse, as well as performed in numerous corporate events.

 

She has been First Violinist in Winnie Chong Piano Quartet since 2011.

Jacqueline Leung
Flute

Jacqueline studied Music and Arts at University of New South Wales., majoring in Flute learning from Jane Bolinowsky and Rebecca Steel.  She also obtained her Masters degree in Music Therapy from University of Technology in Sydney and is a registered Neurological Music Therapist with the Robert F. Unkefer Academy of Neurological Music Therapy.

 

As an active performing musician, Jacqueline has been First Flautist with Winnie Chong Piano Quartet since 2012 and has played in numerous private events. As an experienced teacher and music therapist, she has been heavily involved in schools specialising in helping children with Autism and other special needs, and early childhood intervention learning centres. Organisations she has worked with include Sydney Children's Hospital, Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre and Heep Hong Society, just to name a few. She is currently an instructor at Yan Chai Hospital Social Services Department Professional Training Centre as well as visiting lecturer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Open University.
